The Story
Sol Smith grew up in a household where music was heritage. Her grandfather designed cover art for some of Brazil’s most iconic artists of the 1970s — the visual language of an era. That legacy shaped not just her ear but her instinct for identity.
Her debut, Carolina, explored her bond with her mother — intimate, honest, and quietly powerful. Bye Tio arrived with more swagger: a narrative-pop tale about a runaway groom, complete with a music video that earned over 100,000 views and sent her fanbase into celebration mode.
Then came Sol Smith Hotline — produced by Felipe Sciotti (whose credits include Anitta, Xamã, and Netflix films Beyond the Universe and Burning Betrayal). Mastered in Rome by Aldo Azzaro at N2N Studios. A punchy pop/reggae groove with Brazilian soul woven into every arrangement — the kind of track that grows on you.
After leaving her job in telemarketing, Sol wrote “Hotline” — a song that describes the experience of working a customer service line with an infectious groove and a playful, resigned chorus. The track conveys how tired she is of dealing with difficult customers, but does it with a lightness that makes it irresistible. Classic Sol Smith: personal experience transformed into something everyone can feel.
